The insulation on CLASS II apparatus between ACCESSIBLE parts or parts connected to them and
/ p& D7 T e1 D* I1 g, c6 FHAZARDOUS LIVE parts, shall withstand surges due to transients, caused for example by
% N, Q3 w5 W% T/ S1 H9 Hthunderstorms and entering the apparatus through the antenna TERMINAL., L4 g( M/ P' }9 o! t
Compliance is checked by the following test:
; \5 f# X- V% a' Z2 c3 `% _; aThe insulation between. c* g% Z k$ |# c' v4 O
– TERMINALS for the connection of antenna and MAINS supply TERMINALS,! T0 U% k6 l* ~" A% H! M
and between
: n6 i' D+ a+ v1 r( }– MAINS supply TERMINALS and any other TERMINAL in case of apparatus providing supply& S- ]1 v. y3 b5 _# ~6 ~
voltages to other apparatus with antenna TERMINALS,' x. H: v" q, i( C. m @* X
is subjected to 50 discharges at a maximum rate of 12/min, from a 1 nF capacitor charged to
- Q2 \$ e' P5 q b, H# m! F2 m10 kV in a test circuit, as shown in Figure 5a.
