Decision: Yes, provided that:
. d6 k2 [2 g m O" C7 u. M- the LED circuit shall be verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-13 or IEC/EN) ]( K% I/ ?8 o3 y) V
61347-2-11 (*) and the LED shall be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1
6 x3 j0 z: j6 h0 s' ?0 I4 N(Safety of laser products) (§)-(#), if it has laser radiation in the wavelength6 R, ~ i, h7 [, c- @
ranging from 180 nm to 1 mm. Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be
- \1 t |4 z: J5 G6 r8 M# P* Bused without problems for lighting purposes without protection.& c4 _- i: F f
- The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 shall be carried, C# K( N3 w/ U& f0 _( Q
out as follows:
+ T) ?; J4 }6 A% Ta) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear shall be tested8 E- ]$ D( {2 @2 ?7 s
according to the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-2-6.
0 o4 i& v) w* ?b) For Class III luminaires the manufacturer shall provide the necessary
5 ], W0 h1 J: w6 M% Ninformation to power up the LED circuit correctly in the instruction sheet.
$ w0 ?+ P3 a/ i& | o" o: _# F1 D pAlternatively, the manufacturer shall inform Testing Station about the
, A# n6 g1 ~+ h4 [0 Gtrade mark, the type and the technical characteristics of the appropriate
: D1 b0 F* A' b/ H" x" ccontrol gear to be used. There are three different control gears namely, the
- S' }/ j6 p: Y! M& Ktype and the trade mark as indicated by the luminaire manufacturer; an" t+ {7 p+ V0 E' m
electronic control gear clearly specified in the luminaire instruction sheet
U% Z4 t+ d5 @: T5 ]and a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be carried out as required
: w9 L3 G8 M' }& a9 x0 r0 O# u. ]in Section 12 according to IEC/EN 60598-2-6 with the appropriate control3 K, y2 Y3 n0 j5 m
gear.
