7 P" v2 q6 H- XDecision: Yes, provided that:
5 Y7 @) s4 O* ]$ Y6 ]& f(1) The LED circuit is verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-2 (*) or IEC/EN
. w& e* a; _" _) r( |' z4 x61347-2-11. If the laser emits radiation in the wavelength range from 180 nm to 1
mm, the LED shall also be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1 (Safety of laser
3 A  q* p. U) I7 |0 y1 I0 Iproducts). Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be used without problems
1 g4 x/ V- ~# T/ w& f$ Z; b& pfor lighting purposes without protection.
2 N  y6 h/ j4 |' l! L(2) The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 are carried out as

(a) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear can be tested
# b+ l; Y& Z8 m  b) J, Maccording to the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-2-6.
(b) For Class III luminaires, the luminaires manufacturer shall provide on
the instructions all the necessary information to supply the LED circuit

: ]" E! @2 I: m; X" w$ H) t" a6 uand the technical characteristics of the appropriate control gear. There can
be three different control gears: the type and the trade mark indicated by the
luminaire manufacturer; an electronic control gear clearly specified on the
0 E  Q& T$ S' p( j, s8 R: jluminaire instructions; a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be
) l+ j( P# T, c1 ^( ]( B7 m( p. icarried out as required in Section 12 according to IEC/EN 60598-2-6 with
