For the purpose of harmonic current limitation, equipment is classified as follows:

& T5 C5 d& E0 p% B! ]– balanced three-phase equipment;
; q% [- i. J+ i5 X– household appliances, excluding equipment identified as class D;
: M( @9 R5 i6 `6 Q/ ` x8 E6 f' @. M) B– tools, excluding portable tools;
3 A+ ^) }; M9 j' R6 N4 V! J– dimmers for incandescent lamps;
: ~. J1 W! B. X: t) u– audio equipment.
) I- m, @( ^; {. q- x/ t5 _- iEquipment not specified in one of the three other classes shall be considered as class A" t6 f2 Y7 v4 E
equipment.
@' E- \) H+ PNOTE 1 Equipment that can be shown to have a significant effect on the supply system may be reclassified in a( h& m( }% l3 z a# k8 m
future edition of the standard. Factors to be taken into account include:

– duration of use;$ Z+ X. A$ r7 q. M: I" R$ q
– simultaneity of use;
