For the purpose of harmonic current limitation, equipment is classified as follows:

1 F" p7 t! {5 a9 p– balanced three-phase equipment;
- h. K8 n, g% x6 }/ u# `3 M– household appliances, excluding equipment identified as class D;! M) K1 x+ ~- m1 L; t3 A; J
– tools, excluding portable tools;
9 i& e# |6 y9 ?) O0 ?9 G0 M! N: \– dimmers for incandescent lamps;
* m0 B; ^- a+ J; k– audio equipment.: ]. w4 F/ _2 ]& q) r
Equipment not specified in one of the three other classes shall be considered as class A
- p! c. W. s6 f9 O7 t6 K& aequipment.
# j/ X4 P2 t" B: f4 N5 q- d. `NOTE 1 Equipment that can be shown to have a significant effect on the supply system may be reclassified in a* [. ~- ~ X/ l. k* K" r7 M: I4 v
future edition of the standard. Factors to be taken into account include:

2 h* i$ m# @3 g) q– duration of use;

% g" ` ]5 j8 M& O– power consumption;

Class B:

– arc welding equipment which is not professional equipment.

– lighting equipment.

Equipment having a specified power according to 6.2.2 less than or equal to 600 W, of the

– personal computers and personal computer monitors;
