Decision: Yes, provided that:) K2 V$ P1 } W2 C% S" k
- the LED circuit shall be verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-13 or IEC/EN4 e2 x- X; [4 d
61347-2-11 (*) and the LED shall be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1
& u5 H; z( K+ [# j6 ]2 ^" V(Safety of laser products) (§)-(#), if it has laser radiation in the wavelength
3 E/ b R4 I3 r, `9 K, Qranging from 180 nm to 1 mm. Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be
1 }+ i4 s6 n! d3 B( `: xused without problems for lighting purposes without protection.
3 ]6 L+ K$ F: E# X- The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 shall be carried4 u' m4 Z# @3 G+ \; i$ d

a) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear shall be tested* L( l# y' a* W' S7 H5 ^( Q5 }2 ]
according to the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-2-6.
% R$ D$ j% A8 `/ nb) For Class III luminaires the manufacturer shall provide the necessary% S/ e9 x0 @3 s, V! c. d; X
information to power up the LED circuit correctly in the instruction sheet.
! ^- [0 _- Q; V( v4 h! \0 Q* sAlternatively, the manufacturer shall inform Testing Station about the
, I, v6 b" p( Ctrade mark, the type and the technical characteristics of the appropriate
1 _8 ?5 O( L: Y& b ~3 Econtrol gear to be used. There are three different control gears namely, the9 x+ j; ^ w7 s; w9 d# e% _
type and the trade mark as indicated by the luminaire manufacturer; an
5 L' a3 X, z1 q5 }electronic control gear clearly specified in the luminaire instruction sheet7 ~. A5 j* L9 T# [% g
and a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be carried out as required
) c# [" E( @5 }7 ~& \1 pin Section 12 according to IEC/EN 60598-2-6 with the appropriate control
