meet the requirements of IEC 60238.
# {8 a$ ?. P7 u/ |9 I5 c4 L- Clause 8.2 of IEC 60238 requires that lampholder shall be tested according to the gauges 7006-30
; o0 v1 V; u, |& k, N/ t7 P3 {0 Y1 z(7006-30A for candle lampholder) and 7006-31.) W& i/ Q( m% Z3 L6 m+ U, z$ c7 q
In the case shown in photos 1 and 2, the only possibility to fulfill the requirements with gauge 7006-30 is
+ q7 N! i7 J/ h1 b# [: u( zto cut the gasket around the rim of the lampholder. However in this condition the lampholder does not
3 |& D/ E- H! t$ z4 Ffulfill the requirement of 7006-31 for protection against electric shock. In the note after the fourth) P, H3 E" H# n% } Y0 r* w0 [
paragraph of clause 20.12.1 of IEC 60598-2-20 it is written that the gasket may serve as protection against" x' s) B; R4 l5 Z
accidental contact with the cap of the lamp, but only for bayonet lampholder. So, it is not applicable to the
@# m4 J* _; g& z7 f" ]E14 lampholder.

In the two cases, the lampholders have been designed to accept E14/20 lamp cap only (and not E14/23x15' R! @7 z ^6 T; r5 ~
or E14/25x17). So, if the tests are performed with these kind of lamps, the test requirements are fulfilled.6 \/ F2 j" A5 J! t9 f$ c
We think that this lampholder used in a lighting chain is not in compliance with the standard due to the
