美国的CPSP 中PART 1510—REQUIREMENTS FOR RATTLES有如下定义：

Examples of products which may have similar noisemaking characteristics but which are excluded from the scope of this definition are: dolls, stuffed animals, crib exercisers, crib mobiles, pull toys, shoe lace holders, bells which are not part of the noisemaking component of a rattle, plastic keys or other figures on loops or chains which produce sound by striking together, games, puzzles and musical instruments such as tambourines, castanets, and maracas.
按照定义分析那么maracas是不属于rattle的，就不需要去判定其末端是否能过模板B的问题，也就是产品年龄段定成3+在美国销售是没有问题的。

ASTM F963里除了"4.23摇铃"外(既然1510把maracas 从rattle中剔除)，还有"4.32具有球形末端的特定玩具"的要求；另外可把maracas作为简单乐器(简单动作使其发声一类)使用，同样适用于4M到36M，我觉得它还必须满足模板B的要求。
对于欧盟，理解是具有maracas形状的rattle也作3-论。

据观察，maracas 通常是配对使用，一高音和一低音。
