47 Surface Marking of AWM
8 s7 L- ?! J' K1 g0 v" }5 G47.1 Surface marking is not required for appliance wiring material.
0 Y6 z, Y# l2 c% O! {' D! i47.2 When surface marking referencing ²AWM² is used, the marking shall contain the following elements:, e& f% U- I1 ?! B
a) Wire/cable designation: ²AWM.²6 \, c( C! d" q( a/ J* A
b) Name of the organization responsible for the AWM, trade name, other applicable mark, or) @; ~/ S5 j% l: t* s$ {
file number. When the organization responsible for the AWM produces AWM in more than one/ g( [" r2 G" L# ~0 E& u8 h& a7 }
location, an additional distinctive marking shall be provided that identifies the specific0 K9 m( g j) z
manufacturing location of the AWM.
4 J' u1 C# `& a: |Other markings such as wire size, number of conductors, and similar data, are determined to be in
% t8 v0 n- K9 T$ t; f( V4 Zcompliance with this requirement when they are not confusing or misleading.
# x% J# M. P/ \- u47.3 For a cable that contains a conductive polymeric shield, the jacket or marker tape shall be marked
