$ P$ L4 A1 G$ x# D: M0 b: t3 Sprocedure A) or B) are conducted. If a transformer is impregnated or potted on
the outside only, and the impregnation material has not penetrated inside it, e.g.

/ V# ~3 x: \2 IDecision: Yes, According to the IEC 61558-1, it is not required that the impregnation or
3 {  v4 p+ G3 L/ Z/ _potting material must penetrate into all parts of the transformer. The criteria
3 a8 U" U/ h4 _! jfor acceptance is the tests described in clause 26. The second edition of IEC
61558-1 is clear in this respect.
