9.11.2.3 refers to the test conditions prescribed in 9.11.2.1 and states that the resistor R3 shall. p/ l- y( m6 O, a% N1 U

9.11.2.1 require the test circuits according to figures 5 to 9 together with resistor R2 to be used.' f# E/ l8 j b1 k
According to these figures, the following inconsistency appears:
- y' a! U. @- z# D0 @For a single pole switch (with two current paths) normally rated for 230 V, the rated residual8 q9 X1 M0 X; |1 L0 B
making and breaking capacity has to be tested at 230 V.: Z" x. L5 M& j7 T
For a two pole switch normally rated for 400 V, the rated residual making and breaking

230 V, independent of the number of poles, and the relevant figures should be corrected.2 U6 s$ N* e; x/ K

Decision to be forwarded to CTL:

" [& I' e4 G5 h% V" L5 _2 w9.11.2.3 and in IEC 61009-1 (1996-12), subclause 9.12.13 - Verification of the rated residual

The test voltage for this verification of the rated residual making and breaking capacity should be the3 y" N4 a4 ~! C; c8 y' M
line to neutral voltage, independent of the number of poles of the RCCB or RCBO. This correction will/ F1 l/ Z e0 @8 A! N5 N9 b
be included in the next amendment or revision of IEC 61008-1 and IEC 61009-1.. d9 M4 g6 I* h# J; O3 O
The revised test circuit (fig. 7) proposed for the standard is attached.
