With passengers able to walk along its roof while floating serenely in the sky, this futuristic plane looks too good to be true.
But the Portuuese designer of the world's first cloud plane is confident that his revolutionary idea could soon go into production.
Passing Cloud is an idea for a novel mode of transportation designed for the traveller less bothered about the destination than the journey.
Propelled and steered by wind alone the plane would travel around the USA allowing customers a unique insight into life above the chimney tops.
The revolutionary airbus would be constructed from a series of spherical balloons with an inner stainless steel structure covered with nylon fabric.
Designer Tiago Barros said: “The purpose of the project is to minimise carbon footprint, defy all typical means of rapid transportation in time and location, in a way that is innovative, aesthetic and dynamic.”
“It would be a unique journey. The feeling of floating in the atmosphere, on top of a cloud, with an open schedule and unknown final destiny.”

设计师蒂亚戈-巴罗斯说：“该项目的目的是为了减少碳排放量，对抗所有以节省时间和重视目的地的标准捷运方式。从某种程度上讲这是交通工具的一种创新，充满了美感和活力。”
“这将成为一种独特的旅行方式。旅途不受时间和终点的限制，乘客能体验漂浮在大气中和云端的感觉。”
