Hi, Guy:
Firstly, I can explain to you the UL's three kinds of CCN for label manufacturers:
1.PGAA: only a procedure/process certification for UL label manufacture, only have this approval, the label manufacturers can print the UL listing mark for their clients. Then I must explain what's the UL listing mark, pls see below:
normally, UL has two kinds of markings, one is that what I said "UL listing mark"(has a circle around the "UL" ), this kind of mark mostly is for the whole products, such as the computer, home electrical appliances, another kind of UL mark is the UL recognized mark, is only for the UL recognized components, such as the motors, transformers and etc, and your products belong to the latter one.
2. PGDQ2/8: this kind of CCN is that the label manufacturer must provide the whole label, including all the words information requested by their clients, and the clients can not add any other information on this kind of labels.
3. PGJI2/8: this kind of label is that the label provider can provide blank or partial-blank labels to their clients, and their clients also can add or print other information on the labels, but at this time, the clients must pay attention that the ink or color ribbon which they used must match with the papers which you provide.
Secondly, I think your factory's certification is a little messed, from my side, your factory can cancel the MULtiple listing file in your subsidiary, cause this will result another annual fee for that multiple file, and only needs to add one new manufacturer location in your main UL file, at this time, you factory can at least save an annual fee for the multiple listing file.
Another suggestion for you to save the UL fee, is that you can prepare all the samples which described in your FUS procedure at one time, and let the UL auditor can get all the samples during one-time inspection, then they will not go to your factory to do second inspection, cause the UL has a policy to the Label manufacturers that if all the samples can be available at one time, no other inspection is required, so you can save another inspection fee again..
Finally, pls carefully read your UL FUS procedure first, then you can learn more, and can let other poeple know what kind of questions do you wanna ask.... |
