$ S% f# n" A$ E6 j– ordinary tough rubber sheathed cord (code designation 60245 IEC 53);
) K, m3 j e2 I6 v( q– flat twin tinsel cord (code designation 60227 IEC 41), if allowed in the relevant part 2;
$ ^6 I3 k' n: f# R2 Y– light polyvinyl chloride sheathed cord (code designation 60227 IEC 52), for appliances- O0 V) k. T$ Z, H! S
having a mass not exceeding 3 kg;4 Y' v% T+ ?' d& n2 B, a
– ordinary polyvinyl chloride sheathed cord (code designation 60227 IEC 53), for appliances. H H. f1 a, @2 W; W9 \' _
having a mass exceeding 3 kg.
% L9 `. A' ]0 M1 V& H3 k5 cWhen supply cords having high flexibility are used, they shall not be lighter than; f9 G- C) w/ l: V6 U J. U
– rubber insulated and sheathed cord (code designation 60245 IEC 86);0 @+ n( z, N& y
– rubber insulated, crosslinked PVC sheathed cord (code designation 60245 IEC 87);) L$ s. n( z2 s0 Z* m+ x& X
– crosslinked PVC insulated and sheathed cord (code designation 60245 IEC 88).
( G. d# v6 l2 }NOTE A lower number in the code designation of the cord in IEC 60227 or IEC 60245 indicates a lighter type.
# v/ U5 u `; a3 p1 d" ~NOTE Z1 The harmonized code designations corresponding to the IEC cord types are given in Annex ZD.
' F! A- ~% U8 ~9 d. j/ sPolyvinyl chloride sheathed cords shall not be used for appliances if the temperature rise of
- {- V \) F& u6 dexternal metal parts exceeds 75 K during the test of clause 11. However, they may be used if
. z3 O4 Q" m4 `* ^$ I: k7 ~– the appliance is constructed so that the supply cord is not likely to touch such metal parts

|4 X @! G5 C6 Z$ h– the supply cord is appropriate for higher temperatures. In this case, type Y attachment
& p8 x7 _1 }: d% |, dor type Z attachment shall be used.
