With no portion of the cord withdrawn, the sample was placed on four, single plies of cheesecloth. The cord reel was then wired to draw an overload current of _______ A, at rated voltage, on all conductors which normally carry current. The overload current was equal to 110 percent of the maximum current as limited by the [branch circuit breaker] [overcurrent protection device]. The [branch circuit breaker] [overcurrent protection device] was bypassed for this test.

[ ] The metal enclosure was grounded through a 3 A fuse.

' H0 x% \6 p4 x" e Four, additional, single plies of cheesecloth were then used to cover the cord reel. The test was then allowed to continue for 7 h, or until the cheesecloth ignited [or the 3 A ground fuse opened].
