--On August 24, 2017, ASTM International published ASTM F963-17, Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Toy Safety. The new standard is a revision to the ASTM F963-16 version. ASTM F963-16 became mandatory by CPSC rule on April 30, 2017. Under the CPSIA, it becomes mandatory within 180 days of publication, unless rejected by the US CPSC within 90 days.: e+ n5 ^! In addition to the C-weighted peak measurement a maximum A-weighted sound pressure level, LAFmax, shall be made and compared to the requirements of 4.5.1.3 4.5.1.2. 4.21.3.3 Arrows intended to be launched from a bow (that is, bow and arrow set) that have a kinetic energy greater than 0.08 J when tested in accordance with 8.14.5 shall not have a maximum kinetic energy per unit area of contact (KED) that does not exceed contact, also known as Kinetic Energy Density (KED) greater than 2500 J/m2 when measured tested in accordance with 8.14.6.
