6.1 Add the following to the requirement as a new second paragraph:
* H- R1 [) A3 j9 F* NIf an appliance consists of a part of class III construction and a detachable power supply
3 r7 ]+ R( H. }& n5 g2 n" m4 |part, the complete appliance is classified as a class I appliance or class II appliance in

7 Marking and instructions0 a+ c& ^' r' [. D/ o* o
7.1 Replace the last dashed item in the first paragraph by the following:9 c, F  y3 `+ S6 y
– symbol IEC 60417-5180 (2003-02), for class III appliances. This marking is not
* i# D. l. ~" r) E8 V( knecessary for appliances operated only by batteries (primary batteries or secondary
) c- M7 Y3 T. U; p# A. zbatteries recharged outside of the appliance) or appliances powered by rechargeable( a2 R$ K0 v/ n5 U! |' U3 ?! ~
batteries recharged in the appliance.

" N1 g3 G! F, S4 \( C7.12.9 For each language, the instructions specified in 7.12 and from 7.12.1 to 7.12.8 shall

instructions may be supplied with the appliance separately from any functional use booklet.) k, q+ q; q3 \( O* w$ ~
They may follow the description of the appliance that identifies parts, or follow the7 w* a; p3 c( I1 J2 d3 d' M- m" \# c/ U
drawings/sketches common to the languages of the instructions.
( B9 D* l* i$ d( I* iIn addition, instructions shall also be available in an alternative format such as on a website

– 2,0 mm for portable appliances with a printable surface of less than 10 cm2; and

NOTE A height of 3,5 mm is similar to Arial 14 pt, 3,0 mm is similar to 12 pt Arial and 2,0 mm is similar to 8 pt$ u+ W0 S, s5 l
Arial. Other typefaces might differ in the pt value.
( [) i  L! }; I5 hUppercase letter of the text explaining the signal word shall be no smaller than 1,6 mm, with
' h1 O0 Q+ f1 w2 W1 A* k: aother letters according to the font size of the uppercase letter.2 K' ?# Y$ X0 D1 B& V, F/ d
Countries that do not use the Latin alphabet need to specify the minimum size of the script to; a7 u' o8 H: ~5 [, ~
be used taking into account what is specified for the Latin alphabet.

Compliance is checked by inspection, by measurement and by rubbing the marking by hand
3 C( G6 P( E) M8 i# m0 C. Nfor 15 s with a piece of cloth soaked with water and again for 15 s with a piece of cloth
7 t5 I; ^* ^3 m4 {4 Qsoaked with petroleum spirit. The petroleum spirit to be used for the test is aliphatic solvent
6 F# J9 V* y5 @: }" N3 {hexane.$ @- u- C. X; Z% ~6 B
8 Protection against access to live parts* ~8 s+ _5 E9 M! U/ n3 R8 U
8.1.3 Replace the note by the following.
& r& ?0 n5 S  x3 E( J8 oIf a single switching action is obtained by a switching device, the switching device shall
; W1 `1 q& t- D/ T3 p1 gprovide full disconnection and the clearances for full disconnection specified in 20.1.5.3 of
8 t* o* ~1 |6 ?) Q* r' oIEC 61058-1:2000 shall be obtained from Table 22 of IEC 61058-1:2000 using the next higher! r3 V  `) [4 U

For appliances provided with a supply cord and without a switching device in their supply
2 I5 h3 S* b/ i. z  Ocircuit, a single switching action may be obtained by the withdrawal of the plug from a socketoutlet.
2 O. B+ R3 v" o4 G$ ]Compliance is checked by inspection and by manual test.0 E5 ?3 t/ P8 y, a3 H7 y5 G. Z
13 Leakage current and electric strength at operating temperature! |! h5 Q* K, W- ^) E3 X  a: @9 ]
13.2 Replace the first paragraph by the following:
9 T+ a# O) s0 a6 u7 S6 }6 P; RThe leakage current is measured by means of the circuit described in Figure 4 of1 C3 \! u9 Z0 j: |$ \
IEC 60990:1999. For class 0I appliances and class I appliances, except parts of class II1 ~% J' q! u; m( y, B/ [) v
construction, C may be replaced by a low impedance ammeter responding to the rated
- V3 K& [4 v. t5 E' a" |6 C7 Z2 [frequency of the appliance.
5 J3 s; J9 A0 F" D. N7 v19 Abnormal operation6 a. F5 J  d1 Q8 C
19.1 Add the following to the penultimate paragraph of the test specification:0 S- B) R: Y. G0 C* v4 b
If the control performs more than one function, only that aspect of the control under) I6 p5 x% k1 x6 g, O
consideration is rendered inoperative. Other functions of the control may continue to operate  u5 i2 u* v8 E6 B5 Z
normally.' ]( v: ?' H! Y" q$ T
19.7 In the third paragraph of the test specification, replace “class P2” by “class S2 or S3”.( A) Y; c% E5 z# x+ ?
19.11.3 Replace the text of the test specification but not the note, by the following.1 B; P/ H+ y# ?
If the appliance incorporates a protective electronic circuit that operates to ensure
6 x3 _6 N# q0 l: l) e$ h; w1 J% ~compliance with Clause 19, the appliance is tested as follows:
! S9 O" d# w" n) @; `A fault as indicated in a) to g) of 19.11.2 shall be incorporated in the protective electronic
0 Y3 _$ @/ ^; H' Icircuit either before the appliance is started or at any point in time after the appliance is  J" N6 f9 x6 z, P- K
started so that the most unfavourable conditions of the test are applied.# n- W# G* b; p0 v7 n
If the appliance is able to operate after the fault in the protective electronic circuit is
9 }9 U6 I9 g6 Jincorporated, then the appliance is further tested as follows.
) P* a& j4 P/ D$ o/ q/ RFor appliances for continuous operation the appliance is operated until steady conditions are
% f" x' l' e  n; B2 A% M* D# oreached. Then the relevant test of Clause 19 is repeated.8 s2 z7 n# I" v2 p6 W/ }
Other appliances are operated for one cycle of operation. Then the relevant test of Clause 19
( b9 ^! t1 O# Zis repeated.8 B/ l6 A6 X$ j# c" p' ?/ l
19.11.4.2 Replace the test specification but not the note, by the following:5 [; z% S( D2 I  Z7 A% ?* g
The appliance is subjected to radiated fields in accordance with IEC 61000-4-3.1 Q* k& \% T! C& D
The frequency ranges tested shall be:( f3 E# q8 C" Z7 V- e$ M& h+ Y* y
– 80 MHz to 1 000 MHz, test level 3;
+ V. m0 N- U% ]3 C; {& ~– 1,4 GHz to 2,0 GHz, test level 3;
+ u) n# Q+ c) A# M– 2,0 GHz to 2,7 GHz, test level 2.
