. W) s; b$ o9 j4 N• There is no weight limit on hand held equipment in IEC61010-1 therefore the manufacturer must state whether the equipment is hand held.4 C3 u8 b+ n$ Y0 V9 H
• Moveable parts should be placed in the least favourable position for the purposes of the test.
' m0 d1 H7 E( {! t• When heavy apparatus is to be dropped it is essential that equipment complying with local regulations are used to lift the apparatus and that a remotely operable device is used to release the device under test. This device should incorporate a safety latch to ensure that early release does not occur.' C% ]1 a; m, j) ^5 b3 o
Personal safety equipment should be issued to staff e.g. protective footwear and training given. The location must be suitable for test and in particular be sufficiently large with protective barriers if needed for staff safety.
