The materials shall be classified HB, HB40 or HB75 (HB = horizontal burning) in accordance9 S( J) N5 n: s3 k7 N
with the criteria given below.
0 l D; B, Z/ c5 h" ?: ^7 k& @8.4.1 A material classified HB shall conform to one of the following criteria:/ F) B+ I7 m7 n" x& Z5 w0 t
a) it shall not visibly burn with a flame after the ignition source is removed;' _, ?# Q0 n# N& X: I, e1 {
b) if the test specimens continue to burn with a flame after removal of the ignition source, the% d' q- z" Y0 i' l$ d# {, q \
flame front shall not pass the 100 mm mark;
& h' X* Y8 p! xc) if the flame front passes the 100 mm mark, it shall not have a linear burning rate exceeding1 |+ b$ D y' m3 R( ?
40 mm/min for a thickness of 3,0 mm to 13,0 mm or a burning rate not exceeding! C: U, ]+ T* y9 k, d! G; y" Z
75 mm/min for a thickness of less than 3,0 mm;
% d% j2 [! S) k/ p0 G. C1 ad) if the linear burning rate does not exceed 40 mm/min for tests with 3,0 mm ± 0,2 mm( ^& S8 N) @8 c6 p) i3 M
thickness, it shall automatically be accepted down to a 1,5 mm minimum thickness.7 @* k1 F* Q5 G
8.4.2 A material classified HB40 shall present one of the following criteria:
' ]) J& v4 [" [/ ga) it shall not visibly burn with a flame after the ignition source is removed;

8.4.3 A material classified HB75 shall not have a linear burning rate exceeding 75 mm/min, if& U. G4 r* j X8 G
