specific requirements are formulated.

tools, heating appliances, UV and IR radiators and apparatus containing components such as6 ^' K! q5 Z( D+ t7 ?6 ]* a
electromechanical switches and thermostats.
5 U' c2 `$ o' W ~Electric circuits consisting of passive components (such as radio interference suppression3 [/ }$ A+ D/ x' \/ c) e
capacitors or inductors, mains transformers and mains frequency rectifiers) are not considered0 R6 s- h! ^- O$ w

4.2 Category II: transformer toys, dual supply toys, mains powered motor operated appliances,

and microwave ovens) containing electronic control circuitry with no internal clock frequency or
/ \# E0 }6 w/ e* X' c8 X8 _oscillator frequency higher than 15 MHz.# s8 t% k/ k. u( m# }2 O
NOTE For toys, examples include educational computers, organs, track sets with electronic control units.# L; z+ ~; N$ p6 E1 G
4.3 Category III: battery powered apparatus (with built-in batteries or external batteries),5 f2 s% U% q9 G$ d; A0 l% j2 Q
which in normal use is not connected to the mains, containing an electronic control circuitry
0 i6 D5 |* w! W9 [3 t$ xwith no internal clock frequency or oscillator frequency higher than 15 MHz.
8 k" n2 X% E" @: _: r8 zThis category includes apparatus provided with rechargeable batteries which can be charged( ~; x( V: M4 E% K* D
by connecting the apparatus to the mains power. However, this apparatus shall also be tested
; s1 ~4 y2 Q Y. _ Eas an apparatus in category II while it is connected to the mains network.
