* r# i/ E1 v1 X; C5.3.2.1 For electronic devices, various semiconductors (solid state) components and electrolytic capacitors shall be shorted one at a time to determine there would be no fire hazard.5.3.2.2 If it can be determined by circuit inspection that some diodes would not cause a hazardous condition or a short would be the same as the “lamp open” condition previously conducted, the component need not be shorted. Components located in circuits that were capable of delivering more than 50 W of power are to be short-circuited or open circuited in turn. The locus (locations) of the 50 W points can be determined with the method described in the Standard for Fluorescent-Lamp Ballasts, UL 935.
