% @8 D+ S, L, ~If FUNCTIONAL EARTHING of accessible or inaccessible conductive parts is necessary, all of the

1 J6 ~% [. N# G/ {! @' ]$ q− the FUNCTIONAL EARTHING circuit shall be separated from parts at HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES in' [8 \% j8 ?* R) s# x% J8 k
the equipment by either:
. `9 R, J7 j4 l0 W1 d3 o9 _. _• DOUBLE INSULATION or REINFORCED INSULATION; or
6 ]2 r2 E/ O( ^, W& B3 g• a protectively earthed screen or another protectively earthed conductive part, separated8 c: k) I0 \6 I6 I' [
from parts at HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES by at least BASIC INSULATION; and/ P9 U1 o. ?& }# X
− it is permitted to connect the FUNCTIONAL EARTHING circuit to a protective earth terminal or! ]; d# B+ z0 O6 N F& H
to a PROTECTIVE BONDING CONDUCTOR; and8 R$ Z; C6 ~; J& y+ G, p8 |
− wiring terminals to be used only for FUNCTIONAL EARTHING shall not be marked by the
9 C/ X+ M: `0 J# V, bsymbol (60417-IEC-5017) or by the symbol (60417-IEC-5019), except that, where a/ l- Z$ Q6 W. {
wiring terminal is provided on a component (for example, a terminal block) or
( X3 H. _6 ^, ?8 v( Qsubassembly, the symbol is permitted; and
7 P; n) j+ P5 S. nNOTE Other markings such as one of the symbols, (IEC 60417-5018 (DB:2002-10)) or
, ~% t/ P( e5 }$ J8 U+ ]1 e(IEC 60417-5020# i& P. N) }) W
(DB:2002-10)), if appropriate, are permitted. Q. o% {7 d; e9 k" O. o
− for internal FUNCTIONAL EARTHING conductors, the colour combination green-and-yellow

0 P( z& e4 K3 S4 k' @4 S, oNOTE Other markings such as one of the symbols, (IEC 60417-5018 (DB:2002-10)) or5 q, a' D" r+ X% @% Q; f& ]

/ M5 z5 b4 T# M/ F(DB:2002-10)), if appropriate, are permitted.: Y6 I! V$ c2 n9 \
− for internal FUNCTIONAL EARTHING conductors, the colour combination green-and-yellow
0 k. f5 f# ~& W# l4 eshall not be used except in multipurpose preassembled components (for example, multiconductor

− in a power supply cord where a conductor having green-and-yellow insulation is used only
! D# o% ^- z6 J/ ato provide a FUNCTIONAL EARTHING connection:3 X; f. V8 F( l' }: O
• the equipment shall not be marked with the symbol (IEC 60417-5172 (DB:2003:02));+ R- L0 G9 K6 Q0 |0 @
and
8 k; f9 q6 B4 }9 W K% b• there are no requirements other than those in 3.1.9 regarding the termination of this3 V9 d; a0 n3 r: S+ R, C0 j0 _& a. ^
conductor at the equipment end.0 Y2 u6 z2 Y; g, z7 f) {
For equipment having a power supply cord where a conductor with green-and-yellow7 m3 y5 ]7 [) @
insulation is used only to provide a FUNCTIONAL EARTHING connection:
) E; ~% p, a" c% W9 N X− the equipment shall not be marked with the symbol , IEC 60417-5172 (2003-02); and/ K2 W# D) l# `# m5 T
− the equipment may be marked with:
# W9 S( i: ?& m4 @' g! M. m9 H• the symbol , IEC 60417-5018 (2011-07); or2 p- N0 ~. P9 H) q, r
• the symbol , IEC 60417-6092 (2011-10).2 N; T; P1 S! b1 L* g" f0 T
These symbols shall not be used for CLASS I EQUIPMENT.
2 ?( [2 |& Q. }) v5 Z9 _. ~There are no requirements other than those in 3.1.9 regarding the termination of this
( c3 x9 t' P# o; O, @2 OFUNCTIONAL EARTHING conductor at the equipment end.
