Annex R of 60947-1, subclause R.2.2, gives instructions for the geometrical zones,
where the metal foil shall be applied. The examples in Figure R.3 have often been a
: o( g) H! n( Z" `- U$ scause for discussions between test laboratory and customer as to which surfaces
shall be covered and whether or not the foil may come in contact with hazardous-liveparts
+ i, s/ H6 o( o) B(e.g. terminals and connected conductors) located in these zones.
The text of R.2.2 clearly states that all surfaces within the defined safety zones shall
be covered by the metal foil regardless of the orientation, unless the manufacturer
: Q; K! d! \, ]* Q. rprovides specification for mounting or the use of additional enclosures preventing
# X1 ]' k: F& yaccess to these surfaces.
" [& B1 `6 S  MThe guidelines not only state that the foil shall not be depressed into holes but also
