标题: UL traceability requirement QMMY2
我们是做IT设备的，在验厂的时候，验厂人员要求我们提供产品所有外壳的UL traceability requirement QMMY2 认证。因为外壳都是买其他模具厂商的。想问一下，报告里面只是要求外壳材料有UL 认证就可以了，为什么还需要另外提供这个资料呢？

是不是所有的模具厂商都需要做这个认证。

1. UL的 QMMY2认证是针对外壳有组装其他线材或者喇叭之类的产品。才要求做QMMY2的认证
2. 若你们纯粹是塑胶外科是不需要的
3. 另外个人观点，UL的追溯性要求就是为了赚钱的，不为别的。

It should be decided by your UL FUS procedure's description, if it indicates the enclosure should be UL R/C QMMY2, then you need to provide it, but if only UL R/C QMFZ2( for plastic material only), then you need to discuss with the factory auditor why QMMY2 is needed...

Andy, UL traceability requirement clarify this case. It is additional requiremt.
Enclosure with some wire or others should passed QMMY2, but it doesn't listed in our terminal UL report.
UL audit would follow FUS and UL traceability requirement.

I know there is an UL "traceability manual", and that's mostly for some key plastic enclosure, I still insist what I said is right, anyway, as you mentioned there is no description for QMMY2 in your FUS procedure, I don't believe it, you can find out this information in your FUS procedure carefully, don't always focus on the detailed section description, you still need to focus on the description of section G, and appendix pages, you could find this information as well.
Couldbe, several years ago, this requirement only could be found in the traceability manual, but right now, this kind of description&requirement also could be found in the FUS procedure, that's the improvement of UL...

I agree with bujust as we met some QMMY requirements, and asked our supplier to finish QMMY process is a good experience.

Yes, and our supplier just finished the project as we required.

That's definitely because there is this kind of requirements&description in your UL FUS procedure, and it indicates that QMMY2 is necessary, not decided by the auditor's will.

And by the way, as you know, if the UL auditor want to issue a VN, there must be a reason&basement which the UL auditor could cite to issue this kind of VN, or the VN could not be issued, in one word, VN only could be issued when there is a non-conformity between your products and the FUS procedure&standards, that's the policies...

And as I know, there are some places which has the QMMY2 description, such as the bobbin of the transformer, most are related with the insulation system, as well, some plastics of the ITE products have this kind of requirements, but for 90% of the plastical enclosure/case, only QMFZ2 is needed...

茶馆，你们的产品是Adapter？那个电源外壳需要组装线或者的材料吗？？
如果没有，为什么你们要求做QMMY2？
