(1) The LED circuit is verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-2 (*) or IEC/EN" ]4 N0 _5 z! F% d2 H( Z$ f
61347-2-11. If the laser emits radiation in the wavelength range from 180 nm to 1
) E8 O, E% S# Z1 b0 ~mm, the LED shall also be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1 (Safety of laser
5 Z& P9 E6 n& x' iproducts). Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be used without problems0 ~6 v+ G& e8 U1 |* S  G5 A
for lighting purposes without protection.  a6 E" F/ K; X+ X) o+ ]
(2) The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 are carried out as

(a) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear can be tested

(b) For Class III luminaires, the luminaires manufacturer shall provide on" l; A* O- _, b7 M; T
the instructions all the necessary information to supply the LED circuit+ K% H! i5 j- u* ]! H
correctly or shall inform the Testing Station about the trade mark, the type4 C% y+ J$ ~5 |! m: D  g
and the technical characteristics of the appropriate control gear. There can# A" v8 Y) f1 I! E4 r8 a" V( j
be three different control gears: the type and the trade mark indicated by the3 s+ g1 u2 y7 @! x! T
luminaire manufacturer; an electronic control gear clearly specified on the
