Decision: Yes, provided that:
( S  w+ p: c5 {3 q0 }* O- the LED circuit shall be verified according to IEC/EN 61347-2-13 or IEC/EN
1 \7 C6 q5 F6 l5 J/ s61347-2-11 (*) and the LED shall be tested according to IEC/EN 60825 –1( E8 O. \8 g! i( z7 N- C
(Safety of laser products) (§)-(#), if it has laser radiation in the wavelength& l3 ]/ C2 ^6 h: U
ranging from 180 nm to 1 mm. Only LEDs classified as Class 1 lasers can be
. U3 [$ M" _8 `  |  Rused without problems for lighting purposes without protection.
- \1 I; E2 R! [- The thermal tests required in Section 12 of IEC/EN 60598-1 shall be carried- g# _! B" Z* b
out as follows:
$ M* C; J% J+ G* n4 ea) Luminaires (Class I or II) with built-in control gear shall be tested
! w) p/ z8 f  F3 X7 `according to the requirements of IEC/EN 60598-2-6.
+ N1 j: Y/ e& n% C5 R/ F  Z) X& Vb) For Class III luminaires the manufacturer shall provide the necessary& u1 `- D" o2 R
information to power up the LED circuit correctly in the instruction sheet.
' q* I) n- i* y& sAlternatively, the manufacturer shall inform Testing Station about the
3 F- m% z  ^  A0 ^, v8 [trade mark, the type and the technical characteristics of the appropriate
% I) F, G) ^' T! tcontrol gear to be used. There are three different control gears namely, the
8 W5 J! n+ M, b$ K% i# itype and the trade mark as indicated by the luminaire manufacturer; an+ K6 _% u! T4 n* {5 Q7 u+ r
electronic control gear clearly specified in the luminaire instruction sheet3 J. E4 T! d( K* ?$ m; ~( C
and a ferromagnetic control gear. The tests shall be carried out as required
) }, k# t2 ~/ z! c( a4 win Section 12 according to IEC/EN 60598-2-6 with the appropriate control
& _* L4 I% [+ }- \' z+ A7 fgear.+ o7 ]" B/ U+ \5 D
