% r# _8 J9 @- K& i' \When performing the tests of clause 19.11.4.4 (surge test), does the standard require the heating elements to be disconnected? Earthed heating elements in class I appliances are disconnected during this test.# ]8 T! R. J' t$ ?7 [$ @8 }/ i9 P! N
Can the test be omitted where the heating element is integrated into the appliance such that disconnection is not possible and, where due to the construction and the operating control system, it is not possible to operate with the heating element  disconnected? The reason being when applying the test with the heating resistance connected, the insulation between earth) y+ s3 m' d, Q% s$ I9 y; O
and the heating element is destroyed,
