猜测一下：美规中的lamp adapter和欧规中的lamp controlgear一个意思吧。

Devices with an integral lamp are termed "self-ballasted"; devices with a replaceable lamp are termed "adapters."

self-ballasted lamp 是自整流灯泡，带整流器或变压器在灯泡里面。但是灯泡不能从整流器上换下来

lamp adapter 是带镇流器的转换灯座，，灯泡可以从上面换下来。
