PROPOSED “CANADA CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY ACT (CCPSA)” FOR
At present, a consumer product that is not regulated or prohibited may pose a health or safety risk to individuals in Canada. Currently it is up to the industry to voluntarily issue and manage a product recall. The Government of Canada is concerned about the health and safety of Canadians, therefore, Bill C-6, also known as the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA), was introduced by the Government of Canada on January 29, 2009.
