}Labelling requirements given below supersedes the labeling requirements mentioned in
}letters issued by BIS intimating Grant of Registration
}
}The Competent Authority of this Bureau has decided that displaying of the statement “Self
}declaration - Conforming to IS................., Rxxxxxxxx” both on product and packaging at a
}prominent location shall be mandatory with effect from 04 April 2014. The font size of letters of
}statement shall be 12 or 1/4th of the size of the brand name whichever is lower. Where 1/4th font
}size of statement is less than 6 font size, in such cases it shall be minimum 6 font size.
}
}The above statement shall be Screen printed/Embossed/Engraved on the product and printed
}on the packaging material.
}

}SIMPLE STEPS FOR REGISTRATION
}1.Get the product tested from any one of the BIS Recognized Laboratories as per their approvedscope(listedatBISwebsite(www.bis.org.in).All critical componentsshallbedeclaredbythemanufacturingunitandevidenceof conformity(testreport)ofeachcomponentshallbesubmittedtolab,if applicable.
}2.TheTestReportshallbeissuedbytheBISRecognizedLaboratoryonlyinthe nameofthemanufacturer(applicant)whoisactuallymanufacturingtheproduct. TheTestReport(s)shallmentionthenameofthemanufacturingunitand complete address (Factory).
}3.Beforesubmittingthe application for registrationinBIS,it should by ensuredby the manufacturing unit that the Test Report is duly evaluated and complete in all respects.
}4.Download the application (Form No. VI & VII) from BIS website (www.bis.org.in)
}5.Application in Form No.VI & Form No.VII should be completely filled-up and duly
}signed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the manufacturing Unit (applicant)
}producing goods.
}6.Submit the following to BIS for Registration :
}(a) FormNo.VI&FormNo.VII,duly filled-upandsignedbytheChiefExecutive Officer(CEO)ofthemanufacturingunitorauthorizedrepresentative(not IndianRepresentative).Themanufacturingunitshallalsosubmitthe authorizationletterinthisregard.Nocolumnofapplicationshouldbeleft blank.
}(b) Alongwiththeapplication, submitthedocument,issuedby Govt.Authorities authenticating the manufacturing unit’s name & complete address. The name andcompleteaddressofthemanufacturingunitshallbeavailableinthe document.
}(c) Incaseofforeignmanufacturer,FormNo.VI&FormNo.VIIshallbe counteredsignedbyIndianRepresentative/AuthorizedRepresentativeof Branch/LiaisonOffice(ifestablishedinIndia).NominationformofIndian representative for foreign manufacturer signed by CEO/ Authorized Representativeinprescribedformat(referBISwebsitewww.bis.org.in)shall also be submitted.
}(d) Test Report(s) issued by BIS recognized Laboratory (issued in the name and address of the manufacturing unit), after evaluation by the manufacturing unit. Test reports shall not be older than 90 days of issue date by lab.
}(e) Agreementfor grantofregistrationasperprescribedformatforforeign manufacturer(refer BIS websitewww.bis.org.in) to be submitted after grant of registrationandtobesignedbyIndianrepresentative/authorized representative of branch and liaison office.
}(f) Letter from the manufacturing unit forwarding the application. Whether OEM’s functioninglike suppliers will be able to apply for registration?
