Question:
How do you perform the overload test on a transformer used in a switched mode power
supply? Do you agree with the following procedure?
A power supply output-circuit shall be loaded with the worst normal load while overloading
that secondary winding which supplies the output-circuit.
Decision:
The load condition at the output of the switched mode power supply which causes the
greatest heating effect shall be used. The load is not likely to be a short circuit
