Question:
Many manufacturers are using a triple insulated winding wire on a transformer, where
DOUBLE, or REINFORCED INSULATION is required between the primary and the secondary
windings. Is this permitted?
Decision:
This is allowed, but precautions should be taken concerning possible mechanical damages to
the wires. Other requirements of 57.9 shall be applied.
