Question:
There are no specific requirements for the instructions to be provided to lift or move
equipment. What is acceptable to Test laboratories?
Decision:
One should review the instructions given and, if practicable, employ them to move the
device. If this results in an unsafe act then the instructions should be judged non compliant.
Explanation:
Due to the very wide range of devices covered by this standard, it is not possible to give a
simple pass/fail criterion. One must, therefore, use experience and regulations applicable in
the workplace when determining acceptability.
