Subject:
Terminals
Key words:
- Terminals
- Contact
- Strand
Provisional decision taken by ETF3 and confirmed by CTL at its 38th meeting, in Toronto
Question:
The test in this clause allows a stripped conductor 8 mm in length to be moved around to contact other parts. Is it acceptable for the conductor to be sent around objects or is it to remain straight and only act as a radius about the point of entry to the terminal?
If bending is allowed how is the limit determined?
Decision:
The strand is to be kept straight as far as reasonable and moved around as a radius from the terminal point.
Explanation
The strand is to be kept straight as far as reasonable and moved around as a radius from the terminal point.
