Question:
How do Test Houses perform these tests, in particular when motors are operating at high
speed?
Decision:
It was agreed that the following tests are required;
1. Locking the rotor when stationary and
2. Stopping the rotor when at full speed. This does not necessarily imply an instantaneous
cessation of movement and a gradual slowing may be appropriate, for example, seizing
of bearings.
