Question:
What standards are applicable to control gear composed of components, (ballast, ignitor, capacitor,
terminal block, etc.) inside an enclosure filled with sealing compound.
Decision:
The following conditions must be fulfilled:
- all components shall comply separately with the relevant standard and they must be
compatible.
- The whole equipment shall comply with IEC 61347-1, IEC 61347- 2-9 and the relevant
clauses of IEC 60598-1.
- The temperatures measured on all the components during the heating test, (IEC 61347-2-9,
§ 14) are lower than their tc.
