Test to establish whether a conductive part is a live part which may cause an electric shock
Annex A
61347-1(ed.1);am1 & 61347-1(ed.2);am1
Standard(s):
IEC 61347-1 All editions
Subclause(s): Annex A
No. Year PDSH 1010 2010
Category: LITE Developed by: ETF5 OSM/LUM
Subject:
Test to establish whether a conductive part is a live part which may cause an electric shock
Key words:
- Earth
- Accessible part
- A2 test
To be approved at the 49th CTL Plenary Meeting, in 2012
Question:
Two tests are in Annex A. During the test A1, the current between the part of concern and earth is
measured (maximum required 0,7 mA). During the A2 test, the voltage between the part of concern and
any accessible part is measured (maximum required 34 V). Is earth also to be seen as an
accessible part during the A2 test? It means that the voltage between the part of concern and earth has to
be checked.
Decision:
Yes. Earth is also an accessible part during the A2 test. Test A or B instead of A + B.
