Internal wiring for some lamp circuits
Key words:

Approved at the 49th CTL Plenary Meeting, in 2012
Question:
During dimming of some lamp circuits (e.g. PL-T 32W- 42W TL 5 HE systems, 28W - 35W and TL 5
HO systems 49W - 54W) the maximum wire-to earth voltages will exceed the rated voltages for normal
internal wiring (60227 IEC 05 or 06 max. up to 430V rms). In view of this, can normal wires be used.
Therefore, normal wiring can be tested in the luminaire with attention to the Uout voltages indicated (if
any).
Decision:
The interpretation is: when carrying out the high voltage test, the insulation resistance and electric
strength test shall be based on the Uout voltage as marked on the component generating the working
voltage. Internal wiring is accepted under this condition.
