Question: Is it possible to have access to the external part in glass of UV tubes of an air
cleaner, with the help of test probe finger of 12 mm diameter, after opening of the
cover by an user (change of air filter for example), taking into consideration that the
instruction of use specifies “ before maintenance actions, it is necessary to
disconnect the appliance from the supply network by taking off the plug ”?
Decision: 8.2 applies so the glass and the tube must be constructed so that double or
reinforced insulation are fulfilled regarding live parts.
The indication of the instruction is not sufficient to comply with the standard.
