Question:
What are the requirements applicable to appliance inlets, intermediate connection devices
and socket-outlets not standardised in IEC 60320?
Rationale:
See question.
Decision:
1) Compliance is required with IEC 60320 except for the standard sheets. The creepage
distances and clearances between live parts and the front surface shall be at least 5.7 mm.
The test pin is not applied. The appliance inlet is with regard to clause 8 considered as for
socket -outlets.
2) Cord-sets connected to non-standardized appliance inlets shall be delivered with the
appliance.
3) Item 1) does not apply for appliances of which, after installation, the connection devices
cannot be touched.
