Question:
How can we ensure that all CBTLs interpret the type of sample in a harmonized way?
Decision:
Raw materials of metallic or polymeric origin are understood as homogeneous and shall be tested according to the appropriate chapters of IEC 62321. It is recommended to test homogeneous (raw) materials not belonging to either of the above groups according to the IEC 62321 test methods of “electronics”. Electronic components shall undergo “disjointment” to achieve homogeneity following Chapter 5 of IEC 62321 and Chapters 5 and 6 of IEC/PAS 62596 Ed.1 prior to analysis.
