Question:
What are the duties (e.g.: on site inspection) and/or the requirements of the test
laboratory (e.g.: copy of the relevant QM procedures of the Manufacturer) to ensure the
manufacturer is in compliance with clause 2.6 of IEC 62133?
Decision:
Compliance to this clause is established when :
1) The manufacturer supplies a self-declaration document (SD) stating that
manufacturer has in place all relevant procedures, both the design and processes of the
product, to address Clause 2.6 of IEC 62133. This SD shall be signed by a person
legally entitled to represent the manufacturer;
or
2) The manufacturer provides an ISO 9001 Certificate which covers both design and
processes of the product, that is still valid at the time of testing the product and covers
the principle process of manufacturing batteries under the scope of IEC 62133.
