§ 6.2 of IEC 62133:2002 § 5.1 of IEC 61960:2003

Question:
The expressed requirement of § 6.2 is subject to interpretation when using the designation clause 5.1 of IEC 61960 as requested.
6.2: Batteries shall be marked as for the cells from which they are assembled” For a battery, shall N2 / N3 / N4, expression of dimensions in mm, be the same as for the single cell?
Decision:
For a battery, N2 / N3 / N4, expression of dimensions in mm, shall be the same as for the individual cells contained within the battery..
Explanatory Notes:
According to clause 6.2 of IEC 62133, N2 / N3 / N4 shall indicate the dimensions of the cells contained within the battery, not the dimensions of the battery.
